So, I was thinking.
What do you all want to do with your lives, brothers. (IC)
I, for one, am very different from my father. I do not wish to slay enemies, kiling makes me feel uncomfortable. I would prefer to be able to have some influence through the senate.
What about you?

I' looking for a career in the legions of Rome, and perhaps will attempt to join the senate after having served in the legions for some time.

I know that Gaius is running unopposed right now for Pontifex Maximus. This would be a huge win for us. Make sure you support his candidacy. Darius, you are also unopposed right now correct? This is an excellent start indeed.

Correction: Darius has aldready gained status as Tribune of the Plebians. I'm running unopposed. With the gods on our side we have very little worries for now. What I think we need to do now is to establish us in Sicily (OOC: Write scens of starting businesses, building villa there etc.) That's what I'd like to do, but in the end it's up to you Publius.

yes, the help of the gods is always welcome. I would like to wait temporarily on securing Sicilia as our home away from home until our postion in the capital is more settled. Than I will travel there personally to secure what links we can with those who were former clients of ours there. That will be a signal for us to begin a strong interest in the area.

Sounds like a solid plan, Publius.

(OOC: i'll just use this thread instead of starting a new one) Congratulations on your appointment to pontifex maximus, Gaius. Hope you serve the Gods as well as you have served the House of Scipio on a side note, I have been doing some calculation. With our current funds, we can buy 6 fisheries, or two farms. 6 fisheries would make us 24.000 a year, while 2 farms would make us 23.000. buying the fisheries would leave us with 20.000, but buying the farms would leave us with 40.000. At the end of the year, we would have 44.000 if we bought the fisheries, but 63.000 if we bought the farms. I suggest we buy ourselves a couple of farms

It is also my belief that farms are the choice to make. Unless I see a strong objection from the rest of the House, I shall purchase an additional Wheat Farm, and Cattle Farm, leaving us with 40,000 for contigiences. While they are expensive, a 5% return on our investment is relatively assured, meaning in time they will pay for themselves fully and start producing funds. I think it is very important for us to live within our means. and not spend everything right away on acquiring property we just end up having to sell to the greek money lenders anyway.
