Who here plays Rome Total War, and tell everyone of your victories. Pictures can be included. Also, for my military campaigns I am going to be using RTW for the pictures in my scenarios soon.

off topic: why don't we make a game section ... for all the Roman Games ... Legion (its an old game n it's like Rome Total War but without all the extra stuff like family , taxes, just the conquering stuff, but it's so addictive) Praetorians Rome Total War Glory of the Roman Empire Caesar III (and others) ...

I PLAY ROME:TW! I just fkn LOVE that game. The expansion is good, but I like the original better. I just have to brag of one victory I was playing as the Goths, and the Huns were attacking me. I placed my army (maybe 1500-2000 men) on a bridge and the huns just kept on coming. I put spearmen in front of the bridge, archers on the flanks and cavalry behind. The spearmen stopped their charge (they had a lot of horsemen), the archers were shooting fish in a barrel, and when they retreated, they were hunted down by cavalry. I beat almost the entire hunnic horde in two turns like this

Well heres my battle, probably the second best besides my 200 man army beating about 10 carthagian legions in a time span of 4 years. (hard battle difficulty set)
Right after my legion of 500 and my 5 star general took Belgica from the Britons they led two huge armies of out Germania with about 900 men put together with warbands, chariots, chosen swordsman, and a few druids. Only thing is, that my army had taken casulties from the siege and had only 356 men after a beaten 2 towns militia, my general, two archers, two auxillia after marius reforms, a unit of ballistae artillery, and barbarian cavlary and a beaten unit of Barb Mercs, along with the Wardogs who saved the day.
So the hordes took siege of the city with 7 rams. Right off the bat I had my archers and Ballistae attack the rams with fire arrows and got two of them out allowing me to not spread my forces too thin. So by this time the gate had fallen and the eastern side of the city had fallen. My towns militia were positioned in front of the gate with the auxillia for stopping the horde and inflicting massive casulties, my general was positioned here. The barb mercs were over fighting 5 units of warbands didn't last long but the war dogs helped make massive casulties to the Warbands two of them routed lowering morale for everyone. So the battle for the gate was going badly and my general had to jump in which helped a lot but reduced his unit to one, himself. Also, somehow my barb. cav. managed to route 2 units of warband before finally being massacred.
The units at the gate started to retreat which is when my archers had to try and stop the horde coming at the town center which is gladly uphill. They did a well job but only 18 and 16 of the archer units were left before the routed. I stationed my general on top of the hill which was the only cavlary unit left out of two full units early and waited for the 5 warbands left to charge up hill and made him charge down in full glory knowing he was going to die. Funny thing was that I forgot about those dogs and when my general went back to the towns center with the few archers, 1 auxillia man, 8 ballistae men, and 2 town militia men, the dogs decided they were hungry.
As the warbands charged to the towns center I had everyone attack the Warbands which was only about 40 men if even against about 120, then the war dogs run right behind the warbands and start MASSACRING I MEAN KILLING EVERYTHING!!!!!! The dogs just ate everything they could get their chomps on even a swordsman unit was not enough, the warbands which were exhausted started to route and this was after I had my general kill the enemy general really bringing down morale, probably would have lost if it wasn't for that.
So after all this my lone general went after the routing warbands and killed them all along with the archers. The only unit left out of all the enemies units was a warband just standing outside the wall routing but it must have been a glitch. But in the end the wardogs got them too anyway.
So all in all my nearly 40 men reduced to about 12 after the battle at the town center killed 98% of the enemies on the field that day.
The computer is retarded though, because after I built up my army another horde came from Britannia and sieged the city, I had another legion help attack the horde. This made the other general earlier who saved Belgica become computer controlled, he was now an 8 star general with 4 management and 7 influence get killed by one unit of warbands......making me lose the entire battle just because of the computers error......

Neat, Maximus Oooh, and I forgot the time when I defeated a garrison of men (don't remember how many, almost a thousand probably) with almost only three groups of Lombard berserkers. I knocked down the gate with a battering ram, and just let the guys run loose for a few minutes. Then my berserkers were all dead, all I had to do was to send in a few spearmen And I played a custom battle where I only had a fully manned legion of lombard berserkers (yup, I love 'em) and the enemy had a full legion of the best legionaires (don't remember what they're called. Don't think it's Legionary first cohort, since those aren't in the expansion). My berserkers beat them to a pulp

@ Marcus: Urban Cohort? This kick ass. I have a thing for a small amount of infantry, a good few archers, and a feckload of cavalry. I mean, sure, there's spearmen and phalanx, but thats why flanking was invented Anyway, there's nout like seeing 3 cavalry units charge at a warband from 3 directions, and then Gauls go flying.
