A great muscled Visigoth, clad in legionnaire armor calls out from a column at the forum:
"Young and able Romans, come and enlist in Rome's 1st Legion and earn your way to greatness! Come right up here and give me your credentials as a nobleman. Any equite looking for service will be given either a position as a centurion commanding one hundred legionnaires or the equivlant of cavalry, called an alae. As a cavalry commander you will start as a Decurion, commanding around 50 cavalrymen.
Come 'ere en signup!"

"I would like to serve as a centurion in the first legion", he said

Gracchus Mercurius and Gracchus Tiberius both walk forward. Tiberius gains the attention of the infantry recruiter, while Mercurius heads for the cavalry wing.

Publius approached the barbarian. The sight of him in the armor of the legion made him physically ill.
"I'll Serve in the ROMAN Legion." Publius said. "If it pleases you I'd like to serve in the infantry."
